Donald and Itola Duwe Family

1940s

Donald M Duwe and Itola F Wolf were married in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on 14 June 1941.

Ronald Raymond Duwe was born 27 March, 1942, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

Don Duwe went into service the U.S. Army in December 1942, during World War Two. He served in the 37th Infantry Division, in African and European theaters, through the end of the war in 1945.

Tolly and Ronnie showed their patriotic support from the Home Front in Sturgeon Bay.

John and Mayme Duwe Family

John Henry Duwe was born 11 September 1877 in Forestville, Door County, Wisconsin. His parents were William and Catherine Duwe, immigrants from the Holstein region of Germany. The United States Censuses for 1910 and 1920 list John’s occupation as blacksmith. He died of a heart attack in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 8 October 1937.

Mary Ann Dier, known as Mayme, was born 13 May 1884 in Sevastopol, Door County, Wisconsin. Her parents were farmer Matthew Dier and his wife Cena. In the United States Census for 1930, Mayme is listed as working as a hospital laundress. She died on 28 January 1981 in Sturgeon Bay, Door County, Wisconsin.

John Duwe and Mayme Dier were married on 23 July 1902 in Sevastopol, Door County, Wisconsin. Five children were born to the couple: Leona (1903-1988), Helen (1904-1995), Chester (1907-1913), Donald (1911-1980), and Mildred (1919-2008).

Chester Duwe drowned on Sunday, 25 May 1913, at the age of six years.

Ronald and Lynn Duwe Family

Ron and Lynn Duwe were married 6 October 1962. They had two sons and one daughter. Most of their married life was spent living in Cudahy and South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They divorced in July 1982.

Ron went into the U.S. Air Force in 1960. He was stationed at K.I. Sawyer Air Base, near Marquette, Michigan.

Ron and Lynn met in mid-1962.
