The Pidduck branch of our family begins with Edward Charles Pidduck (1902-1999) and Florence Emily Tidd (1901-1976).
Edward Charles Pidduck was born October 27, 1902 in Garlinge, a village near Margate, Kent, England. His parents were William, a farm laborer, and Edith Mary. Edward was known to family and friends as Ned.
Florence Emily Tidd was born in March, 1901, in Ash-next-Sandwich, Kent, England. Her parents were William Tidd, a market gardener and publican, and Mary Jane. To friends and family, she was known as Floie.
They were married in 1927, and lived for many years in Denton, Kent. The family lived in a cottage at Denton Court, a historic English manor house not far from Canterbury that was built in the 1600s and extensively expanded between 1792 and 1810. Ned worked as auto mechanic and chauffer for the family that owned Denton Court.
Ned and Floie had two children, Mary Joy (1931-1999) and Elizabeth Ann (1934-).
